First Guess

Yo yo yo! This is my first blog, and since I don't really know what to do, I'll just make it up! Well, I'm a Junior at Texas Lutheran University and I still love it here. I think that I have learned alot so far, especially not about academia. One huge thing I have learned, or realized is the importance of community. While that might sound like a cliche camp theme or a cult thing or whatever, it's true for me. (not the cult thing) I have seen how community can foster growth, (that's for you Courtni) and challenge people to invest in others.

Consequently, perhaps, that is why I am involved in a little thing called the Netzer Co-op. The NC is a community of communities that has almost fleshed itself out without our help through connections that seemingly appear out of nowhere sometimes. It is a community of faith with many people involved. I'm still finding out that I have mutual friends with many new people I meet. In the middle of the co-op is the monastic community, which apparently is not only for Buddhists anymore. :) We are currently working out a spiritual rhythm that will hopefully turn into something really cool. This has been one (the main) example of community for me so far at school. I enjoy intentionally investing in people and living with them. I've also found that it is much easier to deal with conflicts, setbacks, and unforseen bloopers when not as much emphasis is put on the problem and more effort is put on how to solve that problem. (I think I learned that too at school)

I'm also planning on going to Africa this spring for a whole semester. I am really excited about it! I'll have another blog up devoted solely to my Africa experiences whenever I start to actually go to Africa.

Well, I guess that's all for now, check back again, and I'm really sorry if I wasted your time
